Austin, Texas | Confidential Tech Company

Spanning 250,000 square feet across seven levels, this expansive workplace was meticulously crafted for a tech company aiming to embody the essence of West Texas in its corporate culture. The office space, inspired by the idea of a road trip, captures the distinctive qualities of seven different destinations on a West Texas adventure, each corresponding to a specific floor. These include Marfa, Terlingua, Big Bend, and Balmorhea plus more. The result is a diverse and one-of-a-kind environment. For example, Terlingua, known for hosting the world's largest chili cook-off, and Lajitas, where a goat serves as the mayor, are just two of the sources of inspiration.

To encapsulate the spirit of the region, the design team harnessed the unique charm of the undiscovered areas of West Texas. We integrated quirky design elements and seamless transitions between spaces, which were further enhanced by custom art, custom EGD graphics, and vibrant color schemes reminiscent of the local rivers, valleys, and canyons. The project prioritized the use of local resources to infuse authenticity and enhance sustainability and equity, including a collaboration with artist in Mexico for the boxes on the ceiling below and custom colorful rope used as a divider wall as well as the custom rammed earth reception desk that has dirt from the local region.

"Much like the untamed nature of West Texas, this endeavor unfolded with unexpected twists. What began as a modest design team evolved into a vast and collaborative community of artists, interior designers, architects, and contractors who stretched the boundaries of creativity to fashion a functional space teeming with delightful surprises and regional character." - quote from Interior Design Magazine
